About the Opportunity

Jacobs is looking to recruit a Capture Manager to support the growth in the International area of our Strategic Markets business. Based in the Tokyo office, you will be responsible for opportunity pursuit and capture, along with interface with the rest of the business to ensure we maximise value to our customers.

This business expansion reflects on our success and forward strategy with an enhanced focus on our Japan campaign and this new and exciting role could provide, ideal development opportunities for those with skills and behaviours to demonstrate, owning and developing of customer new relationships and supporting growth in our international business.

You will be responsible for the:

  • Future: Working with the Japan Campaign team to evolve the business strategy and accelerate the campaign objectives, capitalising on existing relationships whilst identifying new client contacts, partners and opportunities for growth.

  • Engagement: Proactively engaging with stakeholders across entire ES&T-I business to leverage support and achieve campaign goals. Utilising existing relationships and creating new relationships both internally and externally to understand the client needs and shape the opportunities.

  • Winning of Work: this unique opportunity to develop new relationships in an emerging geography and shape the future of Jacobs in Japan (and elsewhere), taking the empowerment to own, lead and deliver through capture phases and seamlessly handing over into delivery, forging trusting relationships for the long term with customers.

  • Delivery: leading the preparation of capture materials, including presentations to shape the opportunities and then formalised tender submissions, a hands on approach, owning and leading on these capture activities.

  • Looking After It: Owning customer relationships and being the internal advocate for the customer, ensuring we think forward and support their needs, bringing the whole of ES&T-I to support as required. Using existing networks and building new connections to support the best possible proactive endeavour for the customer and the opportunity pipeline.

  • Beyond Zero: Advocating and leading safety, health, and wellbeing: through our Beyond Zero Culture of Caring and in delivery of health and safety performance & behaviours.

Here’s what you’ll need :

As a capture manager, you will have experience in developing new customer relationships, utilising your skills to influence and shape opportunities to provide the best possible value adding solution for our clients, leading to the successful conversion to contracts and supporting the customer relationships through the delivery phase. You will have a good appreciation of the strategic development, pipeline growth, managing relationships and selling the whole capability of the organisation.

Specifically, you will have:

  • Japanese and English language skills to ensure understanding of customer needs and to communicate our capabilities and skills.

  • Japanese cultural understanding and empathy to ensure appropriate interactions and behaviours to integrate with our customer expectations.

  • A passion for business development with a proactive approach and ownership of tasks to drive to successful outcomes for both Customers and Jacobs

  • Experience in the production of bids for technical services, consultancy and full lifecycle design and implementation projects.

  • A working knowledge of the nuclear sector and the challenges facing our clients.

  • Experience of working in both an engineering/consultancy environment would be very beneficial.

  • The ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders

  • Ability to think strategically and clearly define, communicate and deliver a business strategy. Identifying Risks and creating mitigation strategies.

  • A willingness to travel within Japan on a regular basis to meet with customers, and internationally as required.

  • A clear focus on collaboration and growth.

  • Ownership skills, driving delivery through a blend of leadership and very importantly self performance.
