The KeyW Corporation Network Engineer in Fort Lee, Virginia
KeyW is seeking a Network Engineer to provide full-time, onsite network infrastructure support to our customer at the Fort Lee Army Base in Virginia. As the onsite Network Engineer, you will have responsibility for setting up, developing, and maintaining the computer networks within the organization. You'll offer support to users, who can be staff, clients, customers and suppliers, and troubleshoot any problems that arise. Your aim is to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for the customer.
Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, performing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
Designing and implementing new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment
Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and implementing network optimization
Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
Supporting and administering firewall environments in line with IT security policy
Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects
May perform network administration duties.
Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
Configuring routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls
Providing troubleshooting and fault finding if network issues occur
Undertaking capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices
Liaising with third party technology providers (i.e. Cisco), the customer, and service desk personnel to address issues
Attend customer meetings as needed.
Candidates must possess a current SECRET security clearance
Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
Comptia Security + equivalent (Sec + or CCNA/CCDP Sec) in order to be considered. Position requires candidate meets 8570 requirements
5-7 years of Network Engineer or Network Administrator experience
Working experience with Cisco IOS, TCP/IP, and network router/switch.
Security minded with experience managing security controls
Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies, VPN, web filtering, and Active Directory
Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
